As the Senior Manager of Application Maintenance & Transformation, you will lead a dynamic team of 8 technical and functional professionals to ensure the stability, efficiency, and evolution of mission‑critical trading applications. This role combines strategic leadership in maintenance and transformation with hands‑on Level 2 support responsibilities, requiring a deep understanding of both legacy and modern technologies. Your expertise will directly impact operational resilience, risk mitigation, and the adoption of innovative solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a cross‑functional team (8 members) to deliver high‑quality maintenance, support, and transformation initiatives.
  • Develop and execute maintenance strategies aligned with business goals, minimizing downtime, and optimizing system performance.
  • Investigate and resolve escalated complex technical issues (e.g., system vulnerabilities, compliance gaps, performance bottlenecks) across trading applications.
  • Collaborate with L1 support, development, and SRE teams to prioritize incidents, implement fixes, and prevent recurrence.
  • Drive process improvements through automation, documentation enhancements, and cross‑team collaboration (e.g., Agile projects, SRE standards).
  • Learn about multiple applications and technologies and how they interact to provide cross‑function support and maintenance. An understanding of how legacy and emerging technologies integrate is required.
  • Oversee IT Risk deliverables, including Disaster Recovery (DR) planning, audits, and adherence to RBC IT Risk Standards.
  • Ensure compliance with SW/HW lifecycle management, vulnerability remediation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Engage with vendors to resolve issues, acquire knowledge, and influence product roadmaps.
  • Partner with enterprise teams and auditors to align on priorities and maintain operational integrity.
  • Provide direction, expertise, feedback, coaching, and development to build the capabilities of more junior staff.
Must have
  • 8+ years in IT, with 5+ years in 24/7 production support and SRE principles.
  • 5+ years managing Windows/Linux, SQL/PL‑SQL, DB2, and scripting (Shell, Python).
  • Proven leadership experience (direct reports) in a technical environment.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for business stakeholders.
  • Expertise in ITIL, SDLC, Change Management, and audit frameworks.
  • Experience working with teams across various geographies and Agile methodologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
Nice to have
  • Deep knowledge of Financial Trading Lifecycle (e.g., trade execution, settlement).
  • Experience with Zeke, Stonebranch, or HP Non‑Stop platforms (Cobol, Java, SQLMX).
  • Certifications in ITIL, Cloud (AWS/Azure), or SRE.
  • Experience supporting HP Non‑Stop platforms (Cobol, Java, SQLMX).
