Know our team

Nutrition International’s Corporate Services (CS) unit is a dedicated team of Finance and Administrative experts with extensive global experience. The unit leads on providing global Accounting, Finance, Grant Finance & Compliance, Global Risk, Assurance & Fraud, Contracting and Procurement, Facilities Management, and Information Management and Information Technology (IM/IT). Currently, Nutrition International is seeking applications for a Senior Manager, Corporate Finance to be based in Ottawa, Canada, working 2 days/week in-office.

About you

You are someone with a University degree in accounting, finance or business and completion of a recognized Canadian accounting designation (CPA, CA, CGA, CMA). You have a minimum of seven years of accounting experience and a minimum of four years in a financial management role. You have good judgment in analyzing data and information and adapting procedures to accommodate new or unusual situations. You have sound technical and professional knowledge of finance and accounting, especially Canadian reporting standards.

You can handle multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly and are adept at identifying process improvements and workflow efficiencies while maintaining robust oversight and internal controls. You have demonstrated very strong people leadership skills. Experience with NetSuite is considered an asset. Experience with financial planning & analysis is considered an asset. Knowledge of international operations practices considered an asset.

Fluency in English is required. French will be considered an asset.

About the role

In this role you will:

CORPORATE ACCOUNTING
  • Oversee the production of accurate and timely financial information, including reviewing and approving journal entries, account reconciliations and analysis. Manage the consolidation of financial reporting across NI. Coordinate all month‑end and year‑end cycles.
  • Ensure the day‑to‑day HQ Corporate Accounting functions are performed by the team in a timely and effective manner.
  • Be responsible for filing of tax, regulatory documents, and other statutory filings. Support country & regional office registrations, including corporate signing officers.
  • Assist in the development of policies and procedures. Ensure that NI policies and procedures are being followed and an adequate internal control environment is being maintained.
  • Actively involve in workflow optimization, including improving & standardizing processes, better utilizing technologies, and determining optimal functional structures.
  • Control the use and access to the accounting system and ensure adequate training is provided. Represent the needs of corporate accounting functions within new system implementations.
TEAM MANAGEMENT
  • Provide people leadership to the Corporate Accounting team, including coaching, performance management, and development opportunities.
  • Create conditions for high employee engagement while ensuring high‑quality output.
TREASURY MANAGEMENT
  • Ensure appropriate management of cash and cash‑flow requirements across NI.
  • Assist with NI’s financial investments, including cash‑flow forecasting, monitoring investment performance, and updating accounting and management reports.
  • Coordinate the insurance program, including annual renewals and managing claims.
AUDIT
  • Coordinate the annual external audit process for HQ.
  • Prepare the draft financial statements, including note disclosures.

Limited international travel (up to 1 time per year) may be required.
