RBC Cards is one of the leading credit card businesses in Canada and is a strong contributor to RBC’s overall Canadian Banking revenues and profits. The business has grown tremendously in the last five years, driven by our strong suite of Credit Card products and innovative strategy.

The successful candidate for this role will be tasked with development and implementation of business strategies for RBC’s lending cards. As the Senior Manager, Cards Lending Product you will partner with various product, risk, modeling and marketing teams, be accountable for the successful execution and integration of business strategies across multiple key stakeholders and be responsible for enhancing shareholder value creation. Specifically, you will contribute to the broader Cards business objectives and results by analyzing credit strategies and supporting model development that align with our product development goals.

What will you do?
  • Lead all stages of the product development and management lifecycle and/or support development and implementation of key initiatives
  • Support underwriting model development to improve new acquisition adjudication by partnering with Borealis (AI data science team) and credit strategists
  • Partner with credit risk to optimize our credit strategies to align with our business objectives and drive growth in balances and acquisitions
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including credit risk, AI modeling, marketing, marketing analytics, product, and acquisition to implement strategies
  • Develop and implement a new onboarding curriculum to improve digital engagement with RBC’s digital tools and retention while also encouraging positive client behaviours early
  • Identify opportunities for accelerating market share, share of wallet, client engagement & retention, balance growth while meeting our business financial & market share objectives
  • Monitor and report on strategy effectiveness and KPI outcomes relative to expectations, identify insights on new opportunities, and preparing executive level presentations.
What do you need to succeed?
Must have:
  • Prior marketing or acquisition experience leading complex financial products or credit strategy or risk modeling development experience
  • Experience in using data to drive decisions
  • Strategic Mindset – ability to think strategically, integrate information from multiple sources and synthesize complex issues
  • Strong ability to achieve results in the context of complexity and ambiguity
  • Highly organized with ability to multitask and shift priorities
  • Excellent critical thinking skills with ability to resolve issues through innovative solutions
  • Well‑developed interpersonal and influencing skills to build and maintain effective working relationships and elicit cooperation from internal partners
  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to prepare content for senior executives
  • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint
Nice to have:
  • Prior Cards experience or working knowledge of Cards products – understanding of key credit card business drivers and operations
  • Proficient in SQL/SAS/Python
