Qualifications

About the Role

As a key contributor within our Information Technology team, the Senior Application Developer plays a critical role in the design, development, testing, implementation, and ongoing support of our web‑based software solutions.

This role requires a highly skilled technical expert with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, a creative mindset, and exceptional attention to detail. The ideal candidate is not only technically proficient, but also an effective communicator who can confidently navigate group dynamics, build strong collaborative relationships, and bring an approachable, positive presence to the team.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Design, develop and test reliable and reusable code
  • Provide client support to troubleshoot bugs and performance issues within applications and devise solutions to these problems that span multiple systems
  • Analysis of requirements, user interface sketches, estimating and solution proposals
  • Providing database support and data fix analysis and remediation
  • Writing, updating and maintaining documentation
  • Participate in estimation of work effort needed to create release plans and roadmaps
  • Develop and test software in a variety of programming languages and environments
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to mitigate and address these issues
  • Participate in the implementation and deployment of solutions
  • Participate in the debugging and resolution of production issues
  • Provide technical oversight and guidance as needed in the development of new and existing projects
  • Actively coach, mentor, and support the development of software developers, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
  • Promote and uphold coding standards, best practices, and development procedures, and contribute to their ongoing enhancement.
What You Bring
  • Diploma or university degree in computer science, or business administration or equivalent work experience is required
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Java Developer is required
  • Experience with J2EE systems, JSP/Servlet, Web Service (REST, SOAP), JavaScript, Java RMI, EJB, HTML and XML.
  • Hands‑on experience with Hibernate, Spring Framework 5 and above for web application development.
  • Experience with relational databases (including Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL, Progress)
  • Experience with Angular is required
  • Experience with Google Tool Kit is an asset
  • Proficient in interpreting security scan reports and implementing fixes to ensure secure code
  • Ability to write clean, readable, reusable and easily maintainable code is required
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high‑pressure environment
  • Strong attention to detail and effective time management skills
  • Working experience with containerized environment and RedHat Azure Cloud is an asset
  • Experience with Maven, Jenkins, Azure DevOps and Azure Container Registry would be considered an asset
  • Experience working in agile methodology is an asset
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team‑oriented environment.
Let’s Talk Pay

We believe in being upfront about pay and helping you make informed decisions about your career. The annual pay range for this role is $114,000 – $137,000 CAD, inclusive of base salary and target incentive pay.
