Overview

The Senior IT Project Manager will provide leadership, coordination, and delivery oversight for large, complex IT initiatives. This role acts as the integrating delivery lead, aligning agile sprint execution with waterfall release planning to ensure successful delivery within scope, schedule, budget, and organizational standards. The role requires strong leadership, vendor management, governance, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Provide delivery oversight and coordination across multiple workstreams, teams, vendors, and organizational requirements.
  • Act as the integrating delivery lead, aligning agile sprint execution with waterfall release plans while ensuring clear roles, responsibilities, and handoffs.
  • Foster a collaborative and accountable team culture focused on outcomes, trust, communication, and problem-solving.
  • Maintain a centralized project repository with version-controlled, auditable documentation aligned to PMO and industry standards.
  • Develop and maintain core project artifacts including project charters, governance documents, schedules, RAID logs, financial tracking, dashboards, and status reports.
  • Produce materials for presentation to committees and senior stakeholders.
  • Partner with vendors to align sprint schedules, milestones, dependencies, and deliverable expectations.
  • Hold vendors accountable for contractual commitments, timelines, quality standards, and outcomes.
  • Maintain an integrated master schedule incorporating development, testing, training, data migration, change management, and technical readiness activities.
  • Lead project governance, delivery, and working-level meetings with clear agendas, documented decisions, and action tracking.
  • Manage scope, schedule, and budget controls and implement formal change management processes.
  • Track and manage dependencies across development, infrastructure, security, privacy, data migration, and organizational readiness.
  • Maintain and manage project risk and issue registers with mitigation plans across vendor and internal teams.
  • Proactively identify risks related to vendor execution, resourcing, testing, data migration, and organizational readiness.
  • Support quality assurance and testing strategies, ensuring defects are tracked, prioritized, and resolved within agreed timelines.
  • Coordinate data migration planning, execution, reconciliation, and validation activities.
  • Partner with change management and training teams to ensure readiness, adoption, and sequencing of deliverables.
  • Ensure training materials are complete, accurate, and delivered in alignment with sprint releases and final implementation.
  • Coordinate technical compliance activities related to security, privacy, accessibility, and information management.
  • Provide clear, timely project reporting to leadership, including status, risks, budget, vendor performance, and required decisions.
  • Lead go-live planning, cutover activities, readiness assessments, rollback planning, and go or no-go decisions.
  • Support post-implementation stabilization, knowledge transfer, and transition to operational teams.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews and evaluate outcomes against scope, schedule, budget, quality, and business objectives.
Requirement/Must Have
  • Degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Extensive experience coordinating activities across business, technical, data, and delivery teams.
  • Strong experience developing and maintaining complex project plans and schedules.
  • Proven experience managing executive-level stakeholder relationships.
  • Demonstrated experience developing project deliverables including charters, business cases, briefing notes, status reports, dashboards, and closure documents.
  • Experience implementing recognized project management methodologies and standards.
  • Strong experience managing vendor relationships, deliverables, and performance.
  • Experience managing enterprise-scale application development projects using agile, waterfall, and hybrid delivery models.
  • Working knowledge of system implementation lifecycle activities including development, testing, data migration, training, change management, and go-live support.
