Overview

As a Senior HRBP supporting Commercial Banking, for COO, Commercial Credit & RBC Origins, you will provide strategic advice and counsel to Commercial Banking Operating Committee (OC) members and their Senior Leadership teams on all aspects of talent including talent management, organizational design, change management, workforce management, culture and inclusion, leadership and employee development, performance management and rewards and recognition. You will report to the VP, HR, Commercial Banking.

What outcomes will you drive?

The following are key outcomes that you will drive in the HRBP role. Although listed separately, they often overlap and one influences the other. Your role will require you to constantly prioritize, re-prioritize, and integrate these outcomes:

  • Strategy Development and Execution. Understand HR and Commercial Banking strategic priorities and key initiatives; work with Leaders to determine people and organization implications for their teams; help imagine how strategies apply and determine initiatives to ensure execution within the supported teams.
  • Advice and Consultation. Partner with Leaders and other partners to provide advice on resolving issues in a way that meets individual and organizational needs; use HR data analysis to inform decisions and actions.
  • Talent Management. Collaborate with the leadership team on strategies to attract, develop and retain high-performing employees, including workforce and succession planning, retention and engagement strategies, and coaching on performance management; provide coaching and development recommendations to Leaders.
  • Organization Development and Change. Help the business adapt to organizational transitions, align people-related initiatives with outcomes, drive effectiveness, improve team performance, optimize organizational design, and manage employee impacts of change through communication and training.
What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • Proven experience advising senior executive leaders and supporting change and transformation in a large, complex organization in an HRBP, COE, or management consulting context.
  • Experience in continually assessing changing business needs and designing long-term solutions with partners to ensure optimal people practices and business outcomes.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to dive into details; strong consultative orientation and relationship management including the ability to influence and constructively challenge senior leaders.
  • Undergraduate degree, preferably in Human Resources.
  • Strong business and financial acumen.
  • Ability to prioritize high-volume, competing priorities for multiple stakeholders and deliver balanced advice with strong execution capabilities.
  • Ability to collect, identify, analyze, and interpret business data to meet needs and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Ability to understand and respond to complex situations with strategic and innovative solutions to drive results.
  • Aptitude for change management and leadership effectiveness.
  • Effective user and champion of technology.
