Overview

The Canadian IT Finance team provides financial advice and comprehensive reporting for Canadian IT, supporting the CIO and leadership team. Managing $1.8 billion in annual IT expenses across five global segments, the team handles a complex expense base involving over 12,000 FTEs, 1,500 applications, and 500 vendors. Reporting to the Director of Canada Operations & IT Finance, the Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting IT Shared Services and conducting FP&A analysis and reporting for the Canadian IT Function. This role requires fostering strong relationships within the team and supporting initiative spending and project allocations for the Canada Segment.

Position Responsibilities
  • Produce financial reports and analyses for Canadian IT Shared Services, including the monthly operating report, while tracking budget progress, forecast targets, and expense/FTE savings

  • Support the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes, including project allocations for the IT function. Conduct ongoing financial analysis for Canada IT Shared Services, covering targeted expenses, cost-benefit analyses, vendor assessments, and staffing models

  • Provide financial analysis for central initiatives within the IT Strategy team

  • Continuously improve processes to enhance efficiency and information quality in financial reporting.

  • Support the implementation of the Expense Finance in Transformation (ExFit) program, providing input on its direction and impact on the IT Finance team

Required Qualifications
  • Possess a professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CGA, CMA) with over 3 years of financial planning and analysis experience

  • Strong knowledge of business practices, controls, and accounting/audit principles, with a preference for expertise in IT function, capitalization, and project accounting

  • Demonstrate forward-thinking leadership with advanced analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills

  • Effective at multitasking, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines while being flexible, self-motivated, and a critical thinker

  • Skilled in building relationships and negotiating with senior collaborators, with excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient in accounting systems (IFRS, SmartView, PowerBI preferred) and strong in project management

  • Collaborative teammate dedicated to transparency, innovation, and continuous improvement

Salary range is expected to be between $68,775.00 CAD - $114,625.00 CAD. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
