Job summary

A regional educational board in Ontario is seeking a Senior Electronics Technician for a full-time position. The ideal candidate will have a two-year college diploma in Electronic Engineering and a minimum of two years of related experience. Responsibilities include installation and maintenance of network equipment and supporting IT services across various locations in Simcoe County. Candidates must also have excellent communication skills and a commitment to lifelong learning. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are essential.

Job description
SENIOR ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN

Full-time, 12 months

Location: Information Technology Services – Itinerant, various locations throughout Simcoe County

Salary Range: $28.19 - $32.97 per hour

Starting Date: As soon as possible.

Qualifications Required
  • Two year college Electronic Engineering Technician diploma or equivalent diploma.
  • A minimum of two years' of related experience.
  • Current relevant certification.
  • Training and experience with network and telecommunications wiring, including installation, maintenance, and diagnostics.
  • Training and experience with wired and wireless network equipment, including installation, maintenance, and diagnostics.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and as an effective team member.
  • Demonstrated commitment to lifelong learning in the technology field.
  • The board may consider applicants with a combination of education and relevant experience applicable to the position.
  • This position requires travel throughout Simcoe County and as such, a valid driver's licence and reliable transportation is required; mileage payable at the board approved rate.
Qualifications Preferred
  • IT experience specific to the education sector.
  • Familiarity with Systimax Certified Premise Wiring.

This is a full-time 12-month position, forty (40) hours per week. Duties, responsibilities and requirements for the position are not limited to the above but may include all of those in the job description for Senior Electronics Technician.

Participation in the OMERS Pension Plan is mandatory for all full-time permanent employees, even if currently in receipt of an OMERS pension.
