Salary Range (plus performance-based incentive): $151,470 - $204,930

Public policy and legislative process expertise needed: With your extensive knowledge of public policy issues you’ll manage the preparation of responses to questions in parliament and notes for senior executives in federal departments and agencies. You’ll also work with counterparts in the ministers and members' offices and with parliamentary and senate committees.

What you’ll do:
  • Develop and implement an effective government relations strategy
  • Advise FCC senior leaders on optimizing relations with the federal government
  • Recommend strategies for dealing with public policy issues
  • Prepare briefing notes for FCC senior leaders and the Board
  • Liaise with colleagues on messaging for special interest groups and other stakeholders
  • Oversee the management of the customer complaint process
  • Respond to requests for information
What we’re looking for:

What you’ll need:
  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., business administration, political science, public management, or public administration) and at least 10 years of related experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Extensive functional knowledge of public policy issues, government parliamentary and legislative processes and procedures
  • In‑depth knowledge of FCC’s policies, legislation, stakeholders and history and of the agriculture industry
  • Advanced proficiency in both official languages (English and French)
