About the Role
A senior-level Design & Aerostructures Engineer is sought to lead mechanical and structural development for cutting-edge eVTOL aircraft.
This role involves hands-on development of mechanical systems, structures, and components, from concept to certified production, with significant opportunities to grow expertise across adjacent disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and implement platform-level mechanical systems from aircraft to component level
- Design structural and mechanical components for critical systems, including fuselage, propulsion mounts, landing gear, and system housings
- Select and specify materials (e.g., advanced composites, aluminum alloys, titanium, high-performance polymers) based on strength, weight, thermal, and durability requirements
- Support product development from concept through detailed design, prototyping, testing, and release to production
- Optimize structures for strength, stiffness, fatigue, and thermal performance
- Interface with suppliers to validate material choices, manufacturing methods, and fabrication constraints
- Participate in failure investigations and root cause analyses to resolve mechanical or material issues
- Be an integral part of the team, projecting positive behaviours and influence onto the team
- Apply aerospace standards and specifications appropriate to the discipline
- Challenge the status quo, introducing new ideas to improve engineering quality, productivity, and delivery timelines
- Enforce standards and ensure rigor, resilience, and continuous improvement in design solutions
- Act as a project integrator and interface between project management and other engineering teams
- Stay current with industry developments and implement best practices in your work
- Drive continuous improvement of processes to increase safety and efficiency
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in aerospace structural systems, ideally with composite and stress disciplines
- Experience with full lifecycle development, from concept to production and certification
- Familiarity with eVTOL certification regulations (TCCA, FAA, EASA)
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Hands-on experience in mechanical and structural design, material selection, and component testing
