Job Overview

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a key role in building and optimizing data pipelines that power IQVIA’s forecasting and analytics platforms. You’ll work across a global engineering organization, collaborating with product managers, front‑end and back‑end developers, and fellow data engineers. This role combines hands‑on coding with leadership responsibilities, ensuring adherence to architectural standards and coaching junior team members.

Essential Functions
  • Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines and workflows for large‑scale analytics and audience forecasting.
  • Work across the application stack, focusing primarily on backend data engineering.
  • Ensure code quality through reviews, testing, and adherence to best practices.
  • Collaborate with global engineering pods to maintain consistent coding standards.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and contractors, fostering technical growth.
  • Partner with product managers and peers to translate business requirements into scalable solutions.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, including at least 2–3 years in a senior‑level role.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms: Google Cloud and AWS preferred; Azure acceptable.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts; experience with BigQuery or similar technologies.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to peers and stakeholders.
Preferred
  • Experience with JavaScript (legacy code support).
  • Familiarity with Snowflake or other modern data platforms.
  • Exposure to AI/ML concepts and interest in applying them to data engineering.
  • Healthcare industry experience is a plus.
