Overview

Senior Consultant – Governance, Controls within the Head of Capital Markets Centralized Governance and Controls functions.

Responsibilities
  • Execute and support control testing, issue tracking, and governance routines across Capital Markets.
  • Partner with stakeholders (trade floor, IB/CB, CAO/support teams) to gather process details, validate controls, and communicate findings.
  • Contribute to control documentation, test scripts, evidence requirements, and process improvements.
  • Lead risk assessment, remediation, incident reporting investigation, and change initiative risk assessment (CIRA) processes.
  • Manage deficiencies, oversee remediation plans, and ensure timely closure.
  • Provide expert advice as risk and control SME, lead internal audits, compliance exams, and self‑assessment processes.
Qualifications
  • Strong operational risk / controls experience (testing, design, execution). Prior first‑line execution experience essential.
  • Excellent communication and ability to influence busy stakeholders.
  • Comfort in fast‑paced environments; can ramp with minimal hand‑holding.
  • Banking experience; Capital Markets exposure strongly preferred.
Location

Contract position based out of Toronto, ON. Hybrid workplace.

Pay and Benefits

$70.00 – $105.00/hr.
