Geotab is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst who will play a crucial part in driving operational efficiency and process improvement across departments. What you’ll do:

As a Senior Business Systems Analyst, your key area of responsibility will be to apply your business acumen and technical expertise to collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders, identify challenges, discuss long‑term strategies, analyze complex information, and develop innovative solutions to complex business problems.

How you’ll make an impact:
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings with stakeholders to gather business requirements and define project scope.
  • Elicit, analyze, and document complex business processes and user needs, translating them into detailed functional and technical specifications.
  • Manage the product backlogs for the assigned systems, ensuring work increments are ordered and meet the definition or ready before development begins.
  • Host quarterly roadmap planning meetings with business leaders to ensure alignment between the business and technology.
  • Conduct current state business and system analysis and generate documentation for use in communication and solution development.
  • Model and design future state processes, integrations, data flows, data schemas, and user interfaces; creating clear and concise solution documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including administration, development, project management, and product management, to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans, execute test cases, and document test results.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of change management strategies to ensure smooth adoption of new systems and processes.
  • Stay informed on industry best practices, new system releases, and emerging technologies; evaluating their potential impact on business operations.
  • Perform regular system audits and plan improvement projects when necessary.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of departmental knowledge base and documentation.
  • Mentor other business systems analysts, providing guidance, education, and support when needed.
What you’ll bring to the role:
  • 5‑8 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst.
  • Strong understanding of business process reengineering, requirements gathering, and change management principles.
  • Mentors others and is passionate about fostering a collaborative and high‑performance environment.
  • Capable of acting as a Scrum Product Owner and managing a product backlog.
  • Ability to work effectively within various software development methodologies, such as Agile or Waterfall.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Strong testing skills with ability to identify, guide, and execute appropriate depth of testing, including negative tests and integrated test scenarios.
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical skills, creative problem solving, and driven to make data‑informed decisions.
  • Highly organized to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing pressures and priorities.
  • Strong team‑player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and comfortable in a flat organization.
  • Proficiency in diagramming tools, such as Lucidchart, is an asset.
  • Experience with project management tools, such as Jira, is an asset.
  • Experience in the high‑technology industry or a SaaS environment is a plus.
