Senior Accountant [Non‑Audit] – Privately Held Business Group Responsibilities
  • Collaborating with colleagues to provide exceptional service to clients under varying reporting frameworks across different industries and sectors.
  • Planning, preparing and executing financial statement reviews and compilations, including budget and resource requirements.
  • Completing monthly and annual bookkeeping for clients (preparation and advisory) and assisting with payroll and HST calculations.
  • Preparing various types of tax returns and responding to CRA requests for information.
  • Supervising, coaching and providing timely feedback to junior engagement team members.
  • Contributing to the building of our reputation as the preferred business advisors in key sectors of our growing practice.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications
  • Completed post‑secondary degree/diploma or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum two years of public practice accounting and/or bookkeeping experience for small to medium‑sized owner‑managed businesses.
  • Strong technical expertise in accounting.
  • Experience in tax return preparation.
  • Strong focus on exceptional client service and relationships.
  • Strong planning and time‑management skills.
  • Proven problem‑solving with solid analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to develop and present new ideas and conceptualise new approaches and solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience mentoring and coaching junior team members considered an asset.
  • Proficient with MS Office suite and accounting software applications (CaseWare, TaxPrep, Sage, QuickBooks) and quick to grasp new technology tools.
