ROLE OVERVIEW

The SEM Manager will play a hands‑on role in managing and optimizing paid media campaigns across platforms such as Google, Bing, Amazon, Walmart. This role involves end‑to‑end campaign execution—from planning and setup to performance tracking and reporting—and requires a strong understanding of search strategy, audience behaviour, and platform best practices. A solid grasp of Google Analytics, digital measurement, and the online user journey is essential. Success in this role depends on attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to collaborate effectively with both clients and internal teams.

The SEM Manager is a data driven, insights‑led media strategist and platform expert with hands‑on analytics reporting and management experience. The best candidate for this role is a natural collaborator, with strong presentation, organizational and strategic thinking skills. A strong comprehension of the media landscape, and a proactive nature combined with a high level of attention to detail is important. This role will work across multiple US accounts in the CPG, Retail and Health/Fitness space & will balance the expectations of multiple clients at once.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and execute SEM & retail media strategies aligned with client goals, including campaign structures, keyword planning, ad copy, and landing page strategy for optimal performance
  • Manage campaign execution from planning to optimization, ensuring media efficiency, measurable impact, and alignment with performance frameworks and KPIs
  • Analyze and report on campaign performance, leveraging tools like Google Analytics, and SEM Rush to provide actionable insights and refine best practices
  • Continuously improve campaign strategies through testing, innovation, and integration of new platform capabilities and retail media measurement frameworks
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and platform updates, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance strategies and maintain a competitive edge
  • Support and mentor team members, sharing expertise, providing guidance, and building SEM and retail media knowledge within the agency
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
  • Minimum 3-4 years working in media as a performance marketer related to SEM or Retail Activations
  • Prior hands‑on experience with Google Ads (essential), SA360, Amazon Ads, other RMN’s
  • Demonstrated creative and innovative thinker, who doesn’t mind rolling up their sleeves and getting the job done
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • High attention to detail, extremely organized & analytical
  • Hands on management - planning, implementing, optimising & reporting for Fortune 50 brands
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and sometimes involved instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Knowledge in all facets of the digital marketing space: CRM, SEO, SEM, programmatic, social, mobile, video
  • Experience with e-commerce platforms such as Shopify, Magento, Big Commerce are an asset
