Job Functions
  • Monitor all work activities of staff members, identify and report problems that could impact service delivery; maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, contractors and visitors.
  • Patrol City Hall & Council Meetings when the need arises.
  • Follow all current Paladin Security policies and procedures.
  • This position runs 1100 - 1900 Monday-Friday. Stat holidays off as well as a week off during Christmas.
Job Skills / Requirements
  • Responsible for ensuring site policies and procedures are adhered to, and that guards are following contractual obligations.
  • Ensure all staff members receive adequate information to commence duties at sites.
  • Monitor, identify and report health and safety deficiencies; instruct staff in safe work practices.
  • Ensure the Guards Orientation Check List is completed within the allotted time frame.
  • Provide guards with ongoing training related to duties and responsibilities.
  • Ensure new guards have read and signed acknowledgements for Site Orders, Security Guard Training Manual and OH&S Manual.
  • Monitor and identify staff training or disciplinary issues and report to the appropriate Manager; provide constructive feedback.
  • Ensure all email inquiries are attended to and replied to in a timely fashion.
  • Support all staff to address their needs and concerns.
  • Assist with preparing probationary and yearly staff evaluations.
  • Communicate information to resolve outstanding issues.
  • Monitor daily and/or nightly incident reports for relevancy and accuracy.
  • Ensure services provided by site staff are delivered as per clients' requests and comply with Paladin's Code of Ethics and Policy and Procedure Manual.
  • Provide a weekly summary of events and issues to the Manager.
  • All other duties as requested.
Requirements
  • Hold a valid security license.
  • Computer literate and able to assimilate knowledge of site systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong knowledge of the security functions and requirements at the site.
  • Dependable and professional; able to display objectivity and sound judgment.
  • Able to inspire others by knowledge, experience and willingness to assist.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervises day-to-day activities; provides training, planning, assigning and directing work; appraises performance, rewards, and disciplines employees; and addresses complaints and resolves problems.

Certification Requirements
  • Alberta Advanced Class 5 Driver's License.
  • Valid Security Licence.
