A healthcare organization in York Region is seeking a Scheduling Assistant to allocate and schedule staff in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has a minimum of two years of scheduling experience, proficiency in Word, Excel, and other tools, and strong organizational and customer service skills. This role involves supporting the creation of master schedules and ensuring compliance with safety policies. A commitment to fostering an inclusive environment is essential.
The Scheduling Assistant is a team member working in a time sensitive and deadline driven environment allocating and scheduling staff in accordance to the unit operational requirements, policies and procedures. Under the direction of the Staffing Services Managerand the individual department manager, the Scheduling Assistant will book coverage for advance needs, project work, emergencies, workload increases (such as ambulance escorts, patient watch), and short-term/long term leaves. Support the creation of master schedules, review requests, timecards processing, pay reconciliations and investigation of scheduling incidents. The Scheduling Assistant will work closely with their portfolio managers to ensure staffing initiatives are completed. Various duties will also include data entry, filing, and documentation of all calls regarding absence due to sickness or other reasons.
