A local government authority in West Vancouver is seeking a full-time SCADA Technologist. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, and maintaining SCADA systems while ensuring high standards of technical work. Applicants should possess a degree in electrical engineering technology and valid driver’s license. The West Vancouver Engineering & Transportation Department requires a permanent full-time SCADA Technologist with a passion for technical field and office work related to instrumentation and control systems. The duties of the position will include, but are not limited to:
This position requires recent, related experience supplemented by a degree or diploma in a relevant discipline such as electrical engineering technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Registration with EGBC, ASTTBC or a BC Certificate of Electrical Qualification preferred. A valid Class 5 Driver’s License for the Province of British Columbia is required. Experience programming Motorola RTUs, Allen‑Bradley PLCs, GE iFix, VTSCADA, as well as networking and radio communications experience considered an asset.
Successful candidates will be required to provide an acceptable driver’s abstract, police information check, and copies of relevant credentials. Starting Rate of Pay: $45.32 per hour (2025 rates) (This position has a pay structure with five steps which increase annually).
