Job description

Peopleready (a Trueblue Company) is now hiring for multiple positions as a Sanitation worker. Peopleready has been providing general labour staffing to a number of clients for over 30 years.

Sanitation Workers perform a valuable service to their communities by collecting garbage and transporting it to proper waste disposal areas, such as dumps or landfills. You will need to be physically fit to hop on / off a garbage truck and able to lift up to 50 lbs.

We are looking for punctual workers who will be responsible for collecting the garbage and recyclables of communities, businesses, and organizations.

Responsibilities

• Visiting numerous residential and commercial locations, on a daily basis, to collect waste either by manually collecting the garbage or using an automated garbage-disposal truck.
• Transporting and disposing of garbage in a safe, effective, and environmentally friendly manner, at an approved dump site.
• Ensuring recyclables such as glass, paper, and plastic are properly separated from other types of garbage for effective recycling.
• Collecting pieces of furniture or large electronic devices, by appointment, or from the roadside, for effective disposal.
• Clearing debris from roadways to ensure a safe and clean environment.

Requirements :

• Knowledge of proper lifting techniques when handling heavy objects, up to 50 lbs.
• Great physical fitness and strength.
• Team player who is punctual.
• Ability to endure tough working conditions.
• Full PPE is required and face masks will be provided.
