The Station Manager is responsible for ensuring day-to-day operations are conducted in a safe and financially sound manner through the following duties:
- Supervising assigned station personnel.
- Maintaining Ryan Air customer service standards.
- Operating the station within annual budget projections.
- Conducting local sales calls with established business entities.
- Hiring, training, scheduling, disciplining, and conducting annual evaluations for all assigned station personnel.
- Enacting policies and procedures.
- Ensuring all contract ground services are provided within the terms of the contracts.
- Managing relationships, customer service standards, and cargo management requirements in accordance with mainline cargo airline contracts.
- Ensuring all station personnel training is current, including ground service contract training.
- Conducting monthly safety meetings.
- Ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and local laws and regulations.
- Maintaining plant and ground service equipment according to company standards.
- Meeting USPS procedures outlined in the USPS 508 manual.
- Overseeing shipping and receiving of all Company Material (COMAT).
- Submitting all station-related reports and records within established timelines.
- Hiring and training village agents.
- Maintaining ramp, mail, and freight storage areas.
- Participating as part of the Ryan Air management team.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
For Nome, Emmonak, and Aniak Stations:
- Completing monthly reporting for mainline contract turns.
- Serving as the primary training and safety coordinator for mainline contract airlines.
- Enforcing cargo handling security in line with mainline airline security policies.
Requirements
- Ability to analyze and solve complex problems, with excellent leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in computer skills.
- Willingness to travel to villages, Anchorage, and other locations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- This is a very active position requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing for up to 8-10 hours daily.
- Frequent lifting or moving items over 70 pounds.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- For Anchorage, Nome, Kotzebue, and Bethel Stations: Ability to pass a ten-year security background check for airport badging.
