Job description
RFP Program Manager

Our company was built on the dream of a pioneering entrepreneur, and that spirit continues to empower our work with businesses across Canada today. The Rogers Business team helps organizations of all sizes adapt, scale, and win with network services and other innovative technology solutions that are reliable, secure, and scalable. We are looking for team members who have a passion for delivering industry-leading value to customers and businesses in the communities where we live and work, so come build a rewarding career at Rogers and be a driving force behind our success story!

The Bid Management team is comprised of dedicated proposal management professionals that share a common vision: be the “go-to” team trusted to lead all RFPs for Rogers Business.

The RFP Program Manager is a pre-sales operations-centric role that is critical to the success of Rogers Business and the growth of our Advanced Services Team portfolio. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Bid Management, the successful candidate will be the Bid Team’s in-house subject matter expert (SME) and the single point of contact (SPoC) for the Customer Service Organization (CSO).

The RFP Program Manager will efficiently and effectively represent the CSO for all RFPs and will be responsible for quarterbacking the review, risk assessment, and response for all complex and non-standard delivery and support related requirements. She/He will work closely with the back-office CSO leaders and the Proposal Writers on the team to create compliant, compelling, and competitive proposals that meet/exceed the needs of our clients.

While we prefer the successful candidate to work on-site in the Greater Toronto Area, we will also consider exceptional candidates who are located in cities where Rogers has a main office.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Perform RFP intake and review for operational areas including service delivery, service management, service assurance and technical support, project management, billing, reporting, online portals and system integrations, go-to-market readiness, industry standards and certifications, 3rd party suppliers, etc.
  • Participate in go/no go discussions; assess the operational complexity and effort; identify non-standard requirements and risks/red flags.
  • Attend RFP kick-off and status meetings; oversee operational RFP response requirements, actions, and timelines; coordinate and lead all deeper-dive collaboration meetings with back-office CSO leaders, internal SMEs (e.g. Sales, Solutions, Product Management, IT/Systems, Network Engineering, etc), and external 3rd party suppliers.
  • Secure a clear and detailed understanding of the proposed solution in order to connect the operational delivery and day 2 support dots and interdependencies between the client, Rogers, and our 3rd party supplier(s).
  • Craft detailed and persuasive responses that showcase Rogers’ experience and expertise, instilling confidence in our clients; store and manage responses in a content library for ease of access and future reuse.
  • Follow RFPs through various internal opportunity review and deal governance forums; recommend appropriate risk mitigation strategies and provide inputs to operational readiness business cases.
  • On a case-by-case basis, support Sales for post-RFP submission activities such as follow-up meetings and questions, client shortlist presentations, demos, discovery sessions, and contract negotiations/clarification regarding statements of work, service levels, and timelines.
  • Upon award of business, provide warm transfer of RFP opportunity-related documentation, emails, and knowledge to the client-facing Project Manager and/or internal go-to-market Project Manager.
  • Gain and grow knowledge of Rogers and 3rd party supplier products and services; educate Bid Management colleagues to drive greater enablement and autonomy.
  • Spearhead special or transformational projects to drive greater speed, scale, and Sales Enablement.

What You Will Bring:

  • Post-secondary degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field of study.
  • Technical background in Telecom and/or Information and Communications Technology.
  • Minimum 10 years of hands-on Project Management experience.
  • PMP certification is required; ITIL or Agile certifications considered an asset.
  • Bid Management experience considered a strong asset.
  • Bilingual (English/French) considered an asset.
  • Advanced PC and software skills: MS Office, Outlook, MS Teams, SharePoint, Project, Copilot, Visio, Adobe Acrobat, ServiceNow, Salesforce.com, Loopio.
  • Meticulous organization skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively under pressure while juggling multiple projects and deliverables.
  • Team player with a can do/will do attitude; makes things happen.
