A&W Restaurants in 100 Mile House, BC is seeking a Restaurant Manager to start immediately. (Coral Reefer Holdings Inc., 121 Caribou Hwy., V0K 2E0)

Base Salary: $55,000 - 76,500.00

Role

The Restaurant Manager is responsible for all aspects of restaurant operations, including the quality and consistency of the customer experience, adherence to A&W standards, Provincial WCB, Employment & Health Regulations, development of a motivated and productive team, and ultimately, growth and profitability of the business.

Responsibilities
Operations
  • Balance key goals – high quality, speed of service, and cost control through effective management of the operating system.
  • Responsible for the weekly P&L statement of cost of goods, labour costs, and direct expenses.
  • Maintain A&W standards and conduct performance reports regularly; recognize areas for improvement and act where needed.
  • Schedule staff, including self, to operational positions and shift roles.
  • Ensure all equipment and facilities are in good condition and plan for maintenance and repairs.
  • Have working knowledge of climate goals and ensure they are practiced daily.
Human Resources
  • Recruit and hire hourly staff; make hiring decisions for supervisory and assistant manager positions in conjunction with the Area Manager and HR.
  • Train, develop, confront poor performance, and terminate staff as appropriate.
  • Lead meetings and ensure staff safety and a healthy, motivating work environment by applying organizational culture principles.
  • Document critical incidents and report them to key individuals.
  • Ensure monthly Health and Safety meetings walk-throughs are completed and corrective action is taken.
  • Know HR policies and enforce them.
Financial
  • Complete daily, weekly, and period accounting administration.
  • Manage inventory control, ordering, cost control, and weekly inventory counts.
  • Apply cash and food cost management principles.
  • Ensure restaurant profitability by managing costs to meet thresholds and goals.
Customers
  • Ensure cleanliness standards and safe food handling practices are met.
  • Deliver a high level of service to guests through efficient preparation, stocking, and staff positioning, including self.
  • Handle all local store marketing.
  • Manage accidents or complaints, implementing service recovery program.
  • Ensure the team’s appearance meets standards.
Qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven leadership with supervisory experience.
  • Expertise in all restaurant positions.
  • Knowledge of restaurant operating systems.
  • Complete knowledge of operating standards.
  • High interest in developing others.
  • Ability to do accounting and manage administrative aspects of the operation.
Preferred Skills
  • Acceptable oral and written business communication skills.
  • Competency in Windows 11 and MS365 Business.
  • Ability to give presentations.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and suppliers.

Physical Demands
  • Standing, lateral stepping, and repetitive motion for extended periods.
  • Some heavy lifting, up to 25 kg.
