Overview

Type of position: Regular

The incumbent will be responsible for establishing methods to adhere to schedules and for coordinating activities with clients and technical staff. Additionally, the incumbent will implement all necessary planning, scheduling and coordinating requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Enter exploration data into a database for monitoring and modelling
  • Perform geological and structural interpretation of mining projects using 3D software
  • Keep informed of changes or developments in mineral resource estimation methods and reporting regulations
  • Help draft reports and technical studies (NI 43-101, preliminary, pre-feasibility and feasibility)
  • Support resource modelling and updating at client exploration sites or mining operations and provide solutions to problems that they may encounter
  • Lead quality audits of all geological aspects for advanced exploration or development projects (drilling, sampling, analysis, QA/QC and estimation of mineral resources) and ensure important recommendations are implemented
Qualifications and requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Geology or Geological Engineering
  • Member or possibility to become a member of a professional association for geologists or engineers
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience, including geological modeling, resources estimation, Geostatistics and drill programs
  • Practical experience in mineral resource estimation for a variety of deposits
  • Experience in managing databases, QA/QC protocols, geostatistical analyses and 2D and 3D modelling
  • Passion and aptitude for training and sharing experiences with other team members
  • Proficient in using one of the specialized geological and mining modelling software applications, like Leapfrog, Surpac, Datamine, etc
  • Excellent ability for learning new software
  • Excellent communication skills in English, spoken and written
  • Asset: Excellent communication skills in French, spoken and written
