What you'll be doing
As a member of the Business Banking team, you'll report to the Director or Senior Manager & Team Lead Business Banking, providing new and existing clients with an exceptional client experience to support CIBC's vision of being a leader in client relationships. As a Relationship Manager, you'll help business clients meet their immediate and long-term business goals by understanding client needs and identifying opportunities to deepen the CIBC relationship and increase client loyalty. The role emphasizes ensuring clients' financial and credit needs are met through a comprehensive business banking offer or by making formal introductions to Imperial Service, Personal Banking, or Private Banking colleagues. Success requires collaboration with experts across CIBC to meet client needs with the most appropriate segment. You'll proactively manage and grow a portfolio of business connections, focusing on deepening relationships and addressing business needs.

How you'll succeed
Business Development - Build relationships with Centres of Influence (COIs) within the community to generate referrals to CIBC through in-person and digital channels. Connect with existing and potential clients to identify opportunities for full relationships, providing deposit and credit solutions for growth. Participate in community and banking centre events to build CIBC's presence and market share. Develop and manage a sales pipeline of diverse business banking opportunities.
Client Engagement - Engage proactively with assigned clients and prospects to understand their immediate financial needs and long-term goals. Demonstrate service excellence by being involved and proactive, ensuring needs are met. Deliver trusted advice and financial solutions, and promote digital banking options and CIBC's suite of Cash Management products, including ATM, Mobile, Online, and SmartBanking for Business.
Relationship Management - Support existing clients and seek new opportunities through referrals and partnerships. Manage and grow a portfolio focused on deepening relationships and addressing client needs.
Community Involvement - Increase CIBC brand awareness by attending local events and participating in marketing activities. Grow your network to create future small business opportunities.
Who you are
- You have 2+ years of experience in Business or Commercial Banking, with strong knowledge of credit, cash management products, and financial analysis.
- You have an established network in the local business community.
- You put clients first, engage purposefully, and go the extra mile.
- You're passionate about people, communicate effectively, and build authentic relationships.
- You act like an owner, thrive when empowered, and deliver results.
- You hold an undergraduate degree/diploma in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
