Qualifications

  • Experience as a rehabilitation aide is an asset.
  • Experience in a residential care or mental health environment is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provides input on planning, implementing, and evaluating rehabilitation programs.
  • Implements resident rehabilitation programs under the direction of the physiotherapist.
  • Observes, documents, and reports changes in resident cognitive and functional abilities.
  • Coordinates equipment repairs and maintains therapy supplies.
  • Supports physiotherapist during resident care conferences.

Skills

Knowledge of therapeutic techniques, exercise programs, mobility support
Strong written communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team
Crisis intervention experience
Computer literacy

Education

Completion of recognized recreation therapy or rehabilitation assistant program
