Position Overview

Tahir Medix Staffing is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to support the Medical Unit at Queens General Hospital. This is an excellent opportunity for nurses looking for a flexible travel assignment in a rural hospital setting.

Hospital Overview
  • 24-bed medical unit caring for a diverse patient population.
  • Patients range from stable individuals awaiting long‑term care placement to acute cases requiring cardiac monitoring, post‑surgical recovery, and chest tube management.
  • Day shift core staffing: Two RNs, three LPNs, and two CCAs.
  • Night shift core staffing: Two RNs, two LPNs, and one CCA.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in a medical unit setting with a mix of stable and acute cases.
  • Monitor and manage patients requiring cardiac monitoring, post‑operative care, and other specialized treatments.
  • Administer medications, assess patient conditions, and collaborate with the healthcare team.
  • Ensure accurate documentation in accordance with Nova Scotia Health Authority policies.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Qualifications
  • Active RN License in Nova Scotia
  • Minimum one year of recent experience in a medical unit setting
  • Mandatory certifications: BLS and ACLS
  • Strong clinical judgment and ability to manage complex patient care.
  • Experience with cardiac‑monitored patients and post‑operative care is an asset.
