Temporary assignment for approximately 52 weeks


Position Summary


The Registered Nurse functions as a professional within their scope of practice as defined by the College of Nurses of Ontario and the RHPA. They utilize the nursing process in providing critical care therapies and nursing care for patients requiring Critical Care services. The RN incorporates standards outlined by the Ministry of Health, Canadian Association of Critical Care Nursing, and the College of Nurses of Ontario. As part of the multidisciplinary team, the RN participates in research, patient advocacy, education, and direct care.


Qualifications


  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Minimum 2 years' current acute medical/surgical nursing experience
  • Basic arrhythmia interpretation preferred
  • Experience in acute or critical care nursing preferred
  • Current BCLS/HCP certification
  • ACLS and Critical Care certification preferred
  • Knowledge and sensitivity in caring for seniors and families
  • Gentle Persuasive Approach training preferred
  • Interest in ongoing nursing education and participation in ICU research
  • Ability to organize activities, remain flexible, adapt to crises, and collaborate effectively
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership, teamwork, and assessment skills
  • Availability for orientation at scheduled times
  • Good attendance and work record
  • Resume detailing education, courses, and experience required
