Job description

Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is experiencing unprecedented growth. As a result, we have a full-time position available for a refrigeration engineer. Responsibilities include conducting job-site surveys; calculating refrigeration requirements for process cooling and building loads; assisting in the development of project documentation including: drawings, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's), equipment schedules, details, specifications, scope of work, etc.; selecting and applying system equipment to new and existing systems; and coordinating technical specifications, delivery requirements, and quotation parameters with outside equipment suppliers, subcontractors, and clients. Some travel will be required.

The successful candidate must have all of the following:

  1. Bachelor's degree (or higher) in mechanical engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
  2. At least five years of relevant mechanical experience
  3. PE license in any state with the ability to obtain in other states

The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following: project management; ammonia refrigeration design; chilled water/hydronic design; equipment selection; developing piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs); Microsoft Office software; mentoring less experienced staff.
