About the Opportunity

The District of Lake Country has an exciting opportunity for a Records Management Summer Student based in Lake Country, BC.

Reporting to the Manager of Corporate Administration, the student will be asked to assist with digitizing historical paper records. The Records Management student’s primary work will be converting physical records into organized digital files.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited:

  • Reviewing hard-copy files to determine if they are transitory or permanent.
  • Scanning documents and applying proper metadata and naming conventions.
  • Filing electronic records in accordance with LGMA and District of Lake Country standards.

This initiative will improve accuracy, accessibility, and security of documentation, reduce liability risks, and protect critical information from potential loss due to disasters.

More About You

To qualify for this role, you must have completed your first year of a diploma or degree program in a related discipline with plans to return in the fall of 2026.

As our ideal candidate, you have strong attention to detail and organizational skills. The position requires self‑motivation, basic computer skills and the ability to work independently. Your willingness to learn and adapt to a fast paced environment will be beneficial. Familiarity with records management principles is an asset.

About the Benefits
  • You will receive a competitive salary of $23.20 (2026 rates) per hour plus 17.4% in‑lieu of all benefits

This position can work up to 40 hours per week, which may include weekends and evenings, from May 1 - August 31, 2026 (approximate dates).
