About The Role

The primary objective of this position is to meet the plant’s demands for limestone, additives, and fuel while minimizing cost and maintaining quality and environmental objectives.

What You’ll Accomplish
  • Ensure the uninterrupted supply of limestone to the plant.
  • Coordinate drilling and blasting operations and manage the continuous optimization of them.
  • Coordinate the delivery and supply of raw materials and alternate raw materials to the plant with the assistance of purchasing.
  • Ensure environmental compliance, approvals, and permitting.
  • Administer the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement in a fair, firm, and consistent manner.
  • Provide grievance counseling as required.
  • Ensure that quarry activities comply with all legislated regulations and corporate policies.
  • Coordinate training for the quarry operators.
  • Ensure productivity, housekeeping, and quality of work standards are maintained within the quarry department.
  • Participate in the on-call system for the department.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas.
  • Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
What We’re Looking For
  • Education: Bachelor of Engineering degree or Technologist or relevant working knowledge/experience in quarry operations.
  • Required Work Experience: At least five years of manufacturing experience.
  • Travel Requirements: Less than 5%.
Additional Requirements
  • Knowledge of cement technology and the manufacturing process is considered an asset.
  • Excellent leadership ability and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to interact with plant and regional personnel.
  • Ability to work on many tasks at the same time while maintaining excellent organizational skills.
  • Very strong computer skills.
  • Strong communicator (both oral & written).
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated commitment to achieving organizational and personal goals.
  • Proven ability to work well in a team environment (unionized workforce, co-workers, suppliers, etc.).
  • Well organized and systematic.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize-approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
