Quality Technician (2 positions)

The Quality Technician is responsible for driving the ISO, quality, sampling, stewardship compliance, and related programs at the site, ensuring quality and alignment with applicable procedures.

The Quality Technician is responsible to oversee and support the sites manufacturing of quality seed products.

We have 2 positions available at this time:

  • one permanent position at our Coaldale/Lethbridge, AB site; and
  • one, 12-month position at our Cranbrook, BC site.
What you will do:
  • Coordinate and maintain the site Quality Program, by conducting regular trainings and audits, provide solutions for quality issues in a timely and appropriate manner
  • Maintain accurate records for quality and continuous improvement activities performed, leveraging internal systems
  • Maintain and complete all compliance reporting obligations
  • Participate in daily meetings and follow through on quality-related issues. Support areas across the plant to drive the adoption of one management system
  • Use focused improvement techniques to contribute to the improvement of processes and quality management program
  • Develop best practices and share within the quality and compliance networks
  • Help train and update ISO programs for the site
  • Compliance with all quality and ISO standards for business operations
  • Support effective internal audit program on Site Support implementation of respective global/regional Quality initiatives, programs and regulations
Who you are:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver's License. In order to be eligible to drive a company car, your driving record must meet guidelines based on the company’s Risk Screening for Hiring Drivers – MVR will be reviewed as part of pre-employment screening
  • Able to prioritize work schedule; Demonstrates some ability to work independently
  • Ability to support others in completing assigned tasks
  • Follows policies and procedures
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 60 lbs. (a bag of seed)
  • Ability to work overtime as business needs require
Preferred:
  • Experience driving/executing quality procedures for a ISO9001 or similar process, for a manufacturing environment
  • Worked in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in seed production
  • Competent performing basic data analysis and root cause analysis
