Job description

Siltech Corporation, a Canadian owned global provider of organo-functional silicone specialties, is looking to hire immediately a Quality Management Systems Lead. This position will be based in Mississauga but will require regular travel to our Toronto and Fort Erie plants as needed.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role is responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the Company’s management systems with a focus on ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, incorporating customer expectations. This role leads internal and external audits, including customer audits, manages corrective actions, and serves as the primary liaison with certification bodies.

Accountabilities
  • Building a robust, resilient Quality Management System that will adapt to growth and team changes
  • Maintaining Siltech’s ISO certifications
  • Improving management systems to meet evolving customer expectations
Main Duties
  • Continually improves and maintains Siltech’s ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 management systems;
  • Ensures compliance with ISO standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies;
  • Acts as the main liaison with ISO certification bodies and regulatory agencies;
  • Plans, coordinates, and leads internal and external audits, including customer quality audits, and maintains an Internal Audit plan;
  • Is familiar with customer quality agreements and critiques new or revised agreement proposals for senior management;
  • Identifies gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities within management systems;
  • Investigates breakthrough improvement opportunities (e.g., SQC, SPC, AI applications);
  • Leads corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes, including root cause investigation, and drives closure of action items;
  • Trains, inspects, and coaches employees on ISO standards, procedures, and best practices to achieve excellence in policy and procedure compliance at all levels of the organization;
  • Maintains documentation, records, and control procedures;
  • Supports continuous improvement and sustainability initiatives;
  • Reports performance metrics (KPIs) and audit outcomes to management and the team;
  • Administrates the Document Management System and SharePoint platform, including procedure enhancements, revisions, and overall document control;
  • Assists all departments in documenting processes, work instructions, flow charts, and related paperwork;
  • Chairs Management Review Meetings, maintains records of meetings, and follows up on action items;
  • Stays up to date on changes to ISO standards and customer expectations and updates QMS systems accordingly;
  • Works with Purchasing to complete supplier audits and self-assessments;
  • Collaborates with the GMP Manager on overlap between QMS and GMP management systems (e.g., recall process);
  • Takes the lead in Sustainability Management System improvement initiatives tracked and reported in EcoVadis or similar benchmarking platforms.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and implement sustainable solutions, effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, and possess strong inspection and auditing skills;
  • Ability to tactfully and effectively attain adherence to quality control standards and practices;
  • Thorough knowledge of the major work carried out by all business units in the plant, enabling cross-organizational collaboration;
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in an ISO 9001–certified manufacturing environment;
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in quality management systems, or equivalent;
  • Six Sigma, Lean Six Sigma certification, or similar.
