Onboard Systems International (“Onboard”) is a leading global provider of external cargo handling equipment for civil and military helicopters. Founded over 40 years ago, our single-site facility in Vancouver, WA, offers a growing product portfolio with over 5,000 proprietary products. Our core product lines include mechanical cargo hooks, suspension systems, proprietary weighing systems, and a recently launched Human External Cargo (HEC) line of equipment.

Scope of Position

As we evolve from a small family-run business to a midsized global leader, maintaining high-quality standards remains our priority. We are seeking a Quality Inspector to support our expanding operations. The role is scheduled for Monday - Friday, 7 am - 3:30 pm.

In this role, you will perform dimensional inspections on machined and assembled parts at various stages of production, using hand tools and coordinate measuring machines (CMM), if you have prior experience. You will also conduct receiving inspections of bolts, fasteners, and other products.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Inspect incoming materials, in-process parts, and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
  2. Utilize tools such as calipers and other measuring instruments for quality control inspections.
  3. Identify potential improvements in the production process.

Requirements:

  1. 3+ years of relevant experience as a quality inspector.
  2. Ability to read and interpret complex drawings, plans, and procedures in English, with high attention to detail and integrity.
  3. Proficiency with inspection tools including surface plates, height gauges, micrometers, indicators, calipers, surface roughness testers, hardness testers, pin & thread gauges, and CMM; GD&T training is a plus.
  4. Basic computer skills.
  5. Experience in aerospace quality systems complying with AS9100 or ISO9001 standards.
  6. Experience performing First Article Inspections to AS9102 standards.
  7. Bonus skills: Level I or II non-destructive testing certification in MT & PT (dye-penetrant & magnetic particle), and aerospace NAS 410 certification. Proof of training and certificates will be required.
