A public health agency is looking for a Public Health Nurse in Sault Ste. Marie to enhance community health by conducting assessments, providing clinical services, and engaging with diverse populations. The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a valid Ontario driver's license. Proficiency in English is essential, and candidates should be able to work independently and as part of a team. Applications are due by September 18, 2025.
The PHN works in collaboration with internal and external partners to improve the health and well-being of the population (i.e. children, families, youth, and adults) in our communities. The PHN and the teams use knowledge of healthy growth and development, school health, healthy behaviours, community wellness, infectious diseases, evidence informed practice and the assessment of the community to plan health promotion and prevention initiatives. Programs and services will be delivered using relevant guidelines and protocols and the PHN will work in their full scope of practice.
Activities may include home visits, school and child care visits, clinical services, population health approach, community assessment, collaboration and meaningful community engagement.
