Your work environment at EXP

In this role, you will be a part of the Environmental team, based in Burnaby office reporting to the Director of Environmental Services, Western Canada.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

  • Independently managing a portfolio of environmental investigation projects (Phase I, II ESA’s/Stage 1, 2 PSIs II, Detailed Site Investigation, Remediation);
  • Project planning, implementation, coordinating fieldwork (in town and out of town);
  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated experience in client management, business development and a proven ability to bring in work;
  • Review of project budgets, expenses to ensure profitable project performance;
  • Preparation and review of reports for due diligence investigations, and submissions to the BC Ministry of Environment & Climate Change Strategy for instruments (COC, AiP, Determination);
  • Proposal preparation for a variety of clients, demonstrated skills and abilities to develop positive business relationships with clients;
  • Management of provincial and/or federal contaminated sites assessments, site remediation, coordination with risk assessors (human or ecological);
  • Supervision of junior and intermediate professionals.

What your experience looks like

  • Minimum of 7-12 years of environmental consulting experience in BC. Candidates with additional experience will be considered
  • University degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or Geoscience
  • Professional status or designation (P.Eng., P.Geo., P.Ag.)
  • Team player (open communication, contribute to a positive work environment, support team goals etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience and track record in Project management on a variety of small, medium and large projects
  • The ability to deal tactfully and effectively with clients and co-workers
  • Ability to work effectively in a high demand, fast paced environment
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and own vehicle
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Business development skills

The salary range for this role is between $90,000 to $110,000. The actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
