Job summary

A leading health organization in Toronto is seeking a Project Manager to drive transformational change and implement innovative projects. This role involves coordinating project deliverables, managing complex initiatives, and ensuring effective communication across teams. Candidates should have a strong background in IT project management with 3-5 years of experience, a Bachelor’s degree, and preferably a PMP certification. This is a 12-month hybrid role, requiring residence within the Greater Toronto Area for occasional office visits.

Qualifications

Reporting toVice President, Strategy Implementation & Integrated Planning,you’llbe responsible forplanning, executing, and closing projects that require creativity, resourcefulness, and a passion for results. Yourexpertisein project management will be key as you guide stakeholders through process re-engineering, manage complex deliverables, and ensure seamless integration across departments. Please note this is a 12-month contract and hybrid working role.

While most work will be performed remotely, candidates must reside within the GTA to accommodate occasional travel to the Toronto office as business needs arise.

How you will make an impact every day
Project deliverables and task management
  • Responsible for the overall coordination of project deliverables and managing the project to completion
  • Ensure all project deliverables conform to PMO project management,standardsand procedures
  • Assign, manage, and track tasks and activities specific to the project
Project Planning
  • Develop and manage a project plan and schedule including the work breakdown structure and all dependencies
  • Lead the RFP process andassistwith vendor selection process (where applicable)
  • Complete requirements gathering with clear requirements documentationwhichmayinclude working with stakeholders to map outprocessesand re-design them where appropriate
  • Manage all phases of the project lifecycle (initiation, planning, execution, control and closing)
  • Working with IT,managedata migration, complete quality assurance and systems testing for data integrity andcoordinateresolution of issues
  • Manage the system development lifecycle with external vendors (i.e.contract review/signoff, system/ technical design, prototypes review and development, QA and user acceptance Planning (UAP), Testing (UAT)and deployment to production)
Monitor and Control
  • Manage andmonitorvendor and stakeholder expectations to ensure open and consistent communication channels, andtimelycompletion of deliverables
  • Working with theDirector, Strategy Implementation and Integrated Planning tosetupand manage projectsteering committees
  • Manage risks, opportunities,issuesand decisions – assess and take corrective action to mitigate or resolve as needed
Communication and Reporting
  • Clearly communicate project deadlines andmonitorcore project team’s progress through deliverables and milestones
  • Closely workwith vendor implementation team (where applicable) to ensure open and consistent communications, andtimelycompletion of vendor deliverables.
  • Communicate regularly with PMO leadership, key sponsors and other stakeholders,identifyingupcoming issues, concerns,changesand resources requirements
  • Facilitate development of a change management process for larger enterprise-wide projects or projects that incur organizational changes
  • Ensure all lessons learned and documentation are clearly captured and accessible within the PMO
Who we need
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Information Technology, Business, or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • PMP Certificationconsideredan asset(preference will be given to those with certification)
Experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of project management experience, with a focus on IT initiativesand business process improvement
  • Experience managingmedium to large scaleprojects, with a high degree of complexity, from both a business and technology focus
  • Proven project success in working on large projects, involving multiple departments, on time and within budget
  • Experience working with a national organization with multiple sites is an asset.
  • Experience with CRM Salesforce migration in the fundraising spaceconsideredan asset.
Skills
  • Strongprojectplanningand project managementskills,process mapping,negotiation skills, problem solving, stakeholder management,and analytical skills
  • Advanced MS Office, SharePoint knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Smartsheet is considered an asset
  • Solid understanding of system configurations and data flow
  • Excellentverbal/written communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate with stakeholdersacross the organization, including senior and executive management
  • Tenacity to coordinate resolution of reported issues
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to create or enhance support documents and quick reference guides on assigned topics
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset
