Job Overview

This is a position in our client’s Telecom department for a Project Support/Coordinator to support projects. Our client’s Telecom department manages the critical infrastructure for systems including Telephony, Radio Systems, Satellite systems and other communications systems.

The successful candidate will be supporting the Project Manager with scoping, estimating, scheduling, procurement, contracts, and project coordination. It is expected that the candidate will be a team player, self-driven and will take the initiative to lead tasks from beginning to end.

The following list of day-to-day tasks that the successful candidate will be involved in:

  • Preparing Project Management documentation alongside Project Manager
  • Preparing/updating MS Project Schedules
  • Defining/updating project scopes and project forecasts
  • Preparing project estimates
  • Preparing scope of work for vendor contracts
  • Overseeing vendor contracts
  • Requesting/reviewing/processing material quotes ensuring material is successfully received and invoiced
  • Preparing approval paperwork for and coordination of field changes to networks or telephone systems
  • Other tasks as required by the Telephone Portfolio project execution Team

Qualifications

  • University Degree or Technologist Diploma
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to be Nuclear site security cleared
  • Experienced in preparation of scoping, estimating and scheduling
  • Experienced in coordination of complicated tasks which require multiple skillsets, departments or companies
  • Willingness to travel to sites such as Darlington Nuclear Generating Station, Pickering Nuclear Generating Station, Durham regional sites, Bruce Nuclear Generation Station, Niagara regional plants, and other Ontario locations
  • Experience in coordinating tasks for Telephone Systems, Radio Systems, Satellite Systems, Network Architecture, Cyber Security, is a plus
  • Experience in working on large projects is a plus
  • Experience working at Nuclear Generating Sites or other Power Generating Station is a plus
  • Experience in working with labour unions a plus
