We are SLR Consulting (Canada), a 700+ team of advisory, environmental/engineering, and regulatory professionals across 20+ office locations in Canada. We deliver environmental and sustainability services to our clients through the integration of over 30 advisory, technical environmental, and engineering disciplines to help clients address some of their most complex challenges around sustainability. As our new Project Controller, you will play an important role on a team whose work is essential to achieving this goal. You will be responsible for supporting our project managers in overall control, data management and scheduling related to a project or portfolio of projects. You will assist with managing the financial health of the projects, including invoicing, cost controls, change management, scheduling, and forecasting and with data management and report preparation.

Success in this role will require familiarity with project management and documentation tools and processes, strong communication and organization skills, and the ability to effectively manage and coordinate activities for multiple projects and project managers.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain project control reports to support project managers managing their projects
  • Working with accounting/billing teams to ensure projects are set up correctly within Vantagepoint, our ERP system
  • Working with accounting/billing teams to ensure invoices are raised in line with contract terms
  • As required liaise between project managers, and accounting, on matters relating to cost control and progress reporting
  • Responsible for developing and implementing project controls standards, procedures, and work process, relating to scopes, documents, budget, and schedule
  • Responsible for preparing, monitoring, and reviewing reports related to cost (Labour/Expenses/Subcontractor), schedule, progress, budget, and forecast
  • Track and manage Contracts (Agreements, Change Orders, Purchase Orders, etc.)
  • Support Project Managers in the creation and evaluation of project cost estimates
  • Support Project Managers with project initiation and set up in VantagePoint
  • Work with the Project Managers and the Accounting department to reconcile costs
  • Manage client supplied data for projects
  • Assist with report preparation and submission, including proof reading, formatting and compilation.
