Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Production Manager will be a key member of the site leadership team that is responsible for leading the production team in safely producing quality food that meets our customers’ current and future expectations.

Responsibilities
- Provides leadership, coaching, mentoring and training while supervising and indirectly coordinating activities of 120+ employees
- Involved with setting and executing strategic goals/plans for the Company
- Manage and oversee the production process and all sanitation activities
- Coordinates plant activities through detailed planning with supervisors and managers to ensure plant objectives are accomplished in a safe, timely and cost effective manner
- Ensure SOPs and quality control standards are developed, followed and improved upon.
- Work with Quality Assurance (QA) to continually improve the food safety program and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) policies
- Work with support departments to determine materials, equipment, and labour requirements to allow the site to effectively execute the production plan
- Engage employees to identify and implement process improvements that benefit the overall cost of goods and increase the performance of the production line.
- Develop, track, communicate and report the operational KPI’s. Prepare and report data analysis to contribute in maintaining and developing cost standards.
- Participate with engineering and maintenance to develop new capital or special projects which relate to improvement in the production process.
- Work with QA and R&D groups for new product development and test runs.
Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience in the food manufacturing industry, at least 5 years in a people leadership role
- Education in business, food science, industrial engineering is preferred
- Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Statistical Process Control, and Root Cause Analysis
- Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent ability to troubleshoot and anticipate problems
- Sound knowledge of OHSA, GMP, HACCP and food quality systems
- Willingness to work varied hours if needed
