What will your role entail?

As Production Director, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising production operations across three distinct sites in Drummondville. Your mission will be to ensure the quality, safety, and performance of manufacturing lines. Occupational health and safety (OHS) will be at the core of your priorities, ensuring a safe environment that complies with applicable standards. You will play a key role in process optimization, team management, and achieving productivity objectives, while maintaining harmonious relationships in a unionised environment.

Your specific responsibilities include, among others, the following:
  • Supervise and direct production activities to ensure compliance with deadlines, quality standards, and cost objectives.
  • Promote and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies, implementing best practices to prevent accidents and incidents.
  • Analyse performance indicators and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with quality, maintenance, logistics departments, as well as with engineers, continuous improvement services, and planners to optimise production flow.
  • Manage and develop a team of supervisors and operators, fostering a positive and motivating work environment.
  • Maintain constructive relationships with union representatives and manage issues related to collective agreements.
  • Participate in the development of the production budget and monitor expenditures.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and the implementation of new manufacturing technologies or methods.
What you’ll need to succeed:
  • University degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in production management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience managing unionised teams.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools and continuous improvement principles.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and IT tools (MS Office).
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset.
