Job description
Overview

Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers the flexibility to buy now and pay later without any hidden fees or compounding interest.

As a Product Marketing Lead, you’ll play a strategic and hands-on role in shaping how customers experience Affirm’s products. You'll help define our customer strategy, lead high-impact go-to-market initiatives, and develop compelling narratives that drive business outcomes.

This role has full ownership of high-impact initiatives, operates with self-initiative, manages multiple stakeholders, and resolves complex challenges. You will shape product and marketing strategies through deep insights and cross-functional alignment, delivering results at a functional level.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead Go-to-Market Strategy and Execution: Own the strategy and execution end-to-end. Navigate moderate-to-high ambiguity with minimal input. Leverage customer research, competitive intelligence, and market trends to inform strategy, execution, and strategic prioritization.
  • Drive Effective Communications Strategy: Build the consumer-facing communication strategy that taps into insights to inform product and partner execution. Test, track, and optimize communication strategies to inform future executions. Influence decision-making through customer and merchant partner insights.
  • Operate with Agility and Drive Execution: Navigate ambiguity with confidence and bring clarity to complex, cross-functional projects. Manage multiple high-priority initiatives, anticipate risks, and maintain momentum through thoughtful planning and execution. Identify and evaluate trade-offs to balance short-term impact and long-term value.

Use Data to Inform Execution: Advocate for customer pain points and opportunities at key decision-making forums. Develop frameworks for how teams use customer data to drive actionable decisions. Translate business goals into actionable strategies for product marketing and go-to-market initiatives.

  • Leverage Business and Product Acumen: Develop a nuanced understanding of the Affirm ecosystem, as well as the revenue and cost drivers that impact marketing and product performance. Own the success metrics for your partnership-focused area, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaborate Across Teams to Drive Alignment: Proactively identify and mitigate risks from shifting priorities or unclear requirements. Build strong relationships across Partner, Merchant, Product, Sales, Customer Success, Analytics, and other key teams.
  • Be a Culture Carrier: Champion Affirm’s values and culture, fostering collaboration, transparency, and innovation within the team and across the organization. Lead by example to create an inclusive and growth-oriented environment, promote open communication, and encourage experimentation.
What We’re Looking For
  • 5-7 years of experience in product marketing or a similar role, ideally in Payments or Fintech.
  • Proven track record of leading partnership strategy and communication alongside product launches and GTM initiatives that deliver business results.
  • Highly analytical mindset—confident with data and able to extract insights that influence partnership communication and marketing strategies. Uses data to optimize product performance and user engagement.
  • Confident cross-functional team leader able to manage multiple relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive the marketing communication strategy forward with buy-in from multiple teams.
  • Experience navigating ambiguity and driving alignment in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities.
  • Proactively identifies areas for improvement in team deliverables, processes, or strategy and implements solutions.
  • Champions innovation by experimenting with new approaches and sharing learnings with the team.
  • Excellent communicator and storyteller, with the ability to simplify complex ideas for a wide range of audiences.
  • Experience working with in-house designers and content developers to drive flawless execution in both design and copy communication. Integrates customer-facing communication across multiple touchpoints with a cohesive strategy.
  • Campaign development leadership with the ability to pull insights from customer data and build effective campaigns with multiple communication touchpoints.

This role suits someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, brings creativity and analytical rigor to problem-solving, and is passionate about transforming how people access credit.
