Analyst/Associate, Private Equity Investments

Our client is a specialized food private equity investment firm based in Toronto. They support the sustainability transformation occurring within our food system in North America. They invest in profitable mid-market companies across the food value chain in Canada and the US, who are well positioned to prioritize and accelerate this change. They are part of a global multi-platform alternative asset manager investing in sustainable strategies.

Following the successful closing of their first fund, they are looking to add an Analyst or Associate to their growing team based in Toronto. The role will focus on research, investment due diligence, financial modeling and support the execution of new investments and add-ons to existing portfolio companies. This individual will also work closely in supporting the value creation initiatives of the portfolio companies.

The firm has already closed several investments and has an extensive pipeline of opportunities. The Role

• Support various stages of a private equity investment including research, due diligence, financial modeling, working closely with lenders and third-party advisors, senior partners, and senior executives of portfolio companies in their value creation strategy.
• Become a true contributing member of the team.
• Build trust with senior executives internal and external.
• Develop a strong subject matter experience in the agri-food industry.
• Attend conferences and trade shows as required.

Role Requirements

• Strong desire to be part of an entrepreneurial team who are excited to build and grow together
• 2-3 years overall experience within investment banking, or private equity/growth equity or corporate development
• Bachelor’s degree in business or commerce
• Strong understanding of businesses and operations
• Critical and curious mindset, able to communicate points of view in a positive collegial and informed manner
• Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills, interpersonal, problem- solving, financial analysis, and organizational skills
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada to be considered
