Pricing and Promotions Planner

About This Role

Drive strategic growth through data-driven pricing and promotions. As a Pricing and Promotions Planner, you'll lead the development and execution of pricing and promotional strategies, and leverage data analytics to drive sales and profitability. Your expertise in retail merchandising and customer experience will be essential in creating effective promotions that resonate with our target audience.

Workplace Arrangements

This role will follow a hybrid remote/onsite schedule. Applicants for this role can expect to work on-site from our Ottawa Head Office, on Walkley Road 1-2 days a week for an 8am-5pm schedule.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Campaign Oversight: Plan and oversee the development of price index strategies. Manage a price index by sub-department, leveraging pricing trends by category and season for deeper insights.
  • Optimization Recommendations: Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to provide recommendations on pricing and promotional strategies.
  • Financial Reporting: Maintain and manage pricing financial reports, ensuring strategic and operational alignment. Work closely with Nielsen and Engage3 to provide reports and insights to our Category Team. Track the price index using Nielsen data based on market position.
  • Project Management: Manage pricing and promotional projects or strategic initiatives to drive business growth.
What You'll Bring
  • Educational Background: Post-secondary education in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Marketing, or equivalent experience.
  • Promotional Analytics: Experience in customer promotional analytics, including structure development, and measurement.
  • Data and Analytics: Proficient in leveraging data and advanced predictive analytical techniques (data mining, advanced modeling, statistics).
  • Forecasting and KPIs: Expertise in promotional forecasting and linking performance to primary KPIs.
  • Marketing Technology: Experience with marketing technology platforms (CRMs, campaign management, email marketing) and loyalty programs.
  • Customer Experience Systems: Familiarity with real-time interaction management, customer experience systems, and automated marketing technologies.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey analytics findings and business opportunities to diverse audiences.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with various BI tools.
  • Merchant Experience: Experience in retail buying, merchandising, or assortment planning.
  • Industry Experience: Previous experience in retail and/or grocery is considered an asset.
Salary and Compensation

$58,400.00 - $87,600.00
