A healthcare organization is looking for a Podiatry Support Worker to assist in delivering podiatric care while supporting the podiatric health of patients in Manitoba. This role involves aiding in diabetic screening, providing foot-care advice, and contributing to clinical practice within a supportive team. Candidates are expected to hold an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care and have experience in a caring role, especially with the elderly. A salary ranging between £24,937 and £26,598 per year is offered, pro rata.

Work as a clinical support worker to support the three core teams:
Observe and promote the Trust’s values and behaviours.
Assist the podiatrist to carry out podiatric care and podiatric health‑care education activities.
Implement delegated podiatric care including diabetic screening in a range of settings.
Assist in podiatric clinics including ordering stock.
Participate in the training of new staff.
Participate in service transformation activity with a view to continuous service improvement and value for money.
Organisational:
Lead by action and inspire others acting as a role model, demonstrating the leadership behaviours and values identified by the organisation.
Clinical Practice:
Responsible for the implementation of delegated podiatric care for patients within a team caseload, seeking advice and support from or referring a patient back to the podiatrist where there is a change in the patient’s needs or condition.
Untake diabetic annual foot screening sessions.
Provide foot‑care advice to individual patients, relatives and carers.
Provide assistance to the podiatrist in minor surgery sessions, wound care sessions and to undertake simple dressing clinics.
Provide occasional cover in the appliance department including the manufacture of simple orthotics.
Responsible for the maintenance of their own patient records.
Participate in the undertaking of patient surveys and audits where required.
Leader in Clinical Practice:
Lead by action, observing and promoting the behaviours and values identified by the Trust.
Demonstrate a flexible approach to their work, helping to meet demands placed upon the service and ensure that waiting‑time targets are achieved.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites – Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester‑Le‑Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale, as well as over 80 other community‑based settings and patients’ homes.
