Your Impact

The Plant Manager is responsible for the effective leadership of all manufacturing operations at Malach. This includes oversight of production, maintenance, quality, inventory, and logistics to ensure daily performance targets are achieved.

Primary Areas Of Influence
Leadership & Operations Management:
  • Lead daily plant operations including production flow, scheduling, quality, shipping/receiving, and maintenance.
  • Promote a strong and proactive safety culture aligned with Manitoba Workplace Safety & Health, quality, and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Implement and monitor KPIs including throughput, efficiency, scrap, on-time delivery, labour utilization, and downtime.
  • Work closely with engineering, purchasing, and sales to support smooth order progression and customer delivery.
Production Planning & Efficiency
  • Plan labour, materials, and machine usage to meet production targets and minimize delays.
  • Review operational data to identify issues and implement improvements that reduce waste and increase throughput.
  • Identify production bottlenecks and lead problem solving to maintain workflow.
  • Support preventative maintenance planning to ensure equipment reliability and uptime.
Quality & Compliance
  • Collaborate with Quality and Engineering teams to maintain compliance with QMS, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Ensure corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) are implemented effectively and consistently.
  • Reinforce a culture of quality ownership, awareness and accountability at every stage of production.
People Leadership & Culture
  • Coach and support supervisor, leads, and production team members in meeting expectations.
  • Build a respectful and inclusive team environment where team members feel valued and supported.
  • Encourage open communication, timely feedback, and opportunities for skill development.
  • Support performance management, onboarding, and cross training initiatives.
Financial & Strategic Leadership
  • Manage plant level budgets including labor, maintenance, materials, and overhead.
  • Support equipment investment planning cost justifications, and long-term operational improvements.Participate in strategic planning to support Malach’s long term growth and competitiveness.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive manufacturing experience, including 3+ years in a leadership or plant management role.
  • Strong background in lean manufacturing, process optimization, and team development.
  • Strong understanding of production planning, ERP/MRP systems (e.g., JobBOSS), and ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Strong communication, leadership, coaching, and relationship building skills.
  • Proven ability to lead teams through change and improve overall plant performance.
