A leading rehabilitation company is seeking a Permanent Full-Time Physiotherapy Assistant in Arthur, ON. The role involves assisting physiotherapists in providing treatment to residents in long-term care settings, including delivering exercise classes and maintaining treatment areas. Ideal candidates should have a PTA/OTA diploma or degree in Kinesiology and relevant certifications. Qualifications

  • PTA/OTA diploma or degree in Kinesiology or similar healthcare background.
  • Previous experience within an LTC setting is an asset.
  • Standard First Aid & CPR Certification is required.
  • A valid Vulnerable Sector screening check within 6 months is necessary.
  • Proof of Tuberculin clearance is mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the physiotherapist with treatment plans for residents.
  • Perform prescribed treatments including gait and balance training.
  • Deliver therapy-based exercise classes.
  • Prepare and maintain treatment areas and equipment.
  • Communicate regularly with the physiotherapist about resident care.
  • Record daily treatments using a web-based system.

Lifemark Seniors Wellness is looking for a Permanent Full‑Time Physiotherapy Assistant to join our growing team!

Location: Arthur, ON

Status: Permanent Full‑Time

In this role you will:
  • Assist the supervising physiotherapist in performing various components of the treatment plans for individuals living in residential care communities
  • Perform various treatments as prescribed and directed by the supervising Physiotherapist including but not limited to gait training, balance exercises,
    transfer training, range of motion, strengthening, application of modalities (i.e. heat, ice, ultrasound, TENS)
  • Deliver dynamic, safe and therapeutically beneficial exercise classes for groups of residents
  • Set up and prepare equipment and clean up after residents' treatments
  • Ensure that the resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy
  • Maintain regular ongoing communication with the physiotherapist regarding any changes or concerns about a resident's status or treatment interventions
  • Record daily treatments using Seniors Wellness' proprietary, web-based system
Qualifications:
  • PTA/OTA diploma, degree in Kinesiology or a similar healthcare background
  • Previous experience within an LTC setting an asset.
  • Standard First Aid & CPR Certification
  • A valid Vulnerable Sector screening check (within 6 months)
  • Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance
