About the Position
This position falls under the Defense Health Agency-Atlantic Network at the 633rd Medical Group Joint Base Langley-Eustis, serving as a Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) team member providing comprehensive outpatient care for providing a full scope of primary and preventive health care services to patients of all ages.
This is a Direct Hire Solicitation
Duties
- Provide direct primary outpatient care to include gynecologic, prenatal obstetric, pediatric, and geriatric care.
- Provide Pre-and Post Deployment health assessments as well as Preventive Health Assessments (PHA).
- Perform ambulatory surgical procedures including but not limited to: casting/splinting, suturing, excisional skin biopsies, vasectomies, and joint injections.
- Order and interpret diagnostic and testing procedures to include laboratory and radiological examinations.
- Coordinates with facility and community resources to provide multi-disciplinary comprehensive care to all patients.
- Serve as member of the professional medical staff and complies with hospital plans and policies to meet accrediting agencies’ (AAAHC or TJC) requirements.
- Actively participate and contribute to medical oversight activities to include peer review programs.
- Participate in local disaster training exercises as directed by the Chief of the Medical Staff (SGH) or MTF Commander; respond to real-world disaster situations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

- This position has specific initial background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a recurring basis.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random drug testing, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
- This position has mandatory seasonal Influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal Influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
- This position requires the incumbent to have Tuberculosis testing.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination. This position requires lifting of up to 45 pounds.
- This position requires that you obtain and maintain an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- This position requires that you obtain and maintain a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from, or in accordance with, the American Heart Association and American Red Cross. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.
- This position requires that you obtain and maintain a Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Position requires a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
- This position has a TDY or business travel requirement of 5% of the time to various locations. This may require travel on military aircraft, ships, and vehicles.
