Job summary

A regional health authority in Manitoba seeks a Respiratory Therapist for in-person services in the Child & Women’s department. The ideal candidate must hold an entry-level credential in Respiratory Therapy and demonstrate strong skills in critical care ventilators and effective communication, with a preference for those familiar with Indigenous cultures. Responsibilities include providing therapy services and teamwork within a clinical setting. Applicants are expected to ensure compliance with all medical licensing requirements.

Qualifications

  • At least one year previous related experience preferred.
  • Experience in the management of neonatal and pediatric critical care preferred.
  • Current registration with the MARRT required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide respiratory therapy services in a clinical setting.
  • Work cooperatively with other disciplines.
  • Maintain interpersonal relationships with patients and team members.

Skills

Knowledge of critical care ventilators
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to organize and complete assignments
Knowledge of home ventilatory assistive devices
Demonstrate good critical thinking skills

Education

Entry-to-practice academic credential in Respiratory Therapy

Tools

Basic Cardiac Life Support
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
