About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented, hands-on, and results-driven Payroll Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing accurate and timely payroll across multiple provinces while ensuring full compliance with all federal and provincial regulations. This role involves auditing, reporting, and coordinating with internal teams to support all payroll operations, including year-end processing, benefit deductions, and compliance reporting. Experience with Workday is preferred, bilingual (English / French) communication skills are an asset, and National Payroll Institute PCP designation (or progress toward certification) is strongly preferred.

What You'll Do
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of all payroll functions, including hourly and salaried payrolls.
  • Interpret and apply pay policies such as leave of absence, disability and paid time off.
  • Audit employee pay records and reconcile totals, as required, to ensure data integrity.
  • Serve as liaison between employees and internal stakeholders to address inquiries and resolve payroll issues.
  • Record payroll tax reporting and filing for multiple provinces, including government remittances.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, including tax filings and workers compensation.
  • Maintain confidential employee payroll and benefits records in compliance with data privacy regulations.
  • Document payroll procedures and support training or cross-functional knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and provincial legislation related to payroll and employment standards.
  • Promote a safe working environment by adhering to all company health and safety policies.
What We're Looking For
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Human Resources, Accounting, or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 2 years of payroll experience; multi-province experience preferred.
  • National Payroll Institute PCP designation preferred, or currently working toward certification.
  • Workday experience preferred.
  • Bilingual (English / French) preferred.
  • Strong understanding of payroll-related federal and provincial regulations.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information with integrity and confidentiality.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented setting.
Working Conditions

Professional, office environment.

Must be able to work a hybrid model: 3 days in office, 2 days remotely; subject to change in accordance to business needs.
