Job Skills / Requirements

Location: Stettler Hub (Primary Area)
Position Type: Full-Time On-Call (PW Only)
Wage: $19/hr (with $10/hr on-call base rate)
Schedule: 7 On / 7 Off — alternating days and nights each rotation

About the Role

Patient Watch Officers provide supportive, continuous observation for patients who require extra monitoring to ensure their safety and well-being. This role is ideal for individuals who are calm, attentive, professional, and comfortable working within a healthcare environment.

You will work closely with hospital staff and contribute to a safe, respectful, and patient-centered atmosphere.

Primary Deployment: Stettler Hub

This posting is specifically for the Stettler Hub, which primarily covers:

  • Stettler
  • Hanna
  • Three Hills
  • Drumheller
  • Occasionally: Castor and Killam

Your priority will be to work within the Stettler Hub, and we will make every effort to keep you deployed in this area.

However, depending on operational needs, you may be temporarily deployed to other locations across the Central Zone. Flexibility is a key part of this role.

Central Zone Coverage

While hub assignments guide where you will work most often, PW Officers can be scheduled anywhere in the Central Zone if required.

Preferred Recruitment Area

Candidates should ideally live between Olds and Ponoka, including nearby surrounding communities. Wetaskiwin is also acceptable.

If you’re unsure about your location fitting the range, we can confirm with management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow all site and privacy protocols
  • Complete basic documentation as needed
  • Maintain a professional and compassionate presence
Work Environment

This role takes place in hospital settings and involves working with:

  • Patients who may be experiencing stress, confusion, or emotional difficulty
  • Individuals requiring extra observation for their safety
  • A fast‑paced, team‑based healthcare environment

The focus is on patience, professionalism, and staying attentive.

On-Call Expectations
  • 7 on / 7 off rotation
  • Alternating day and night sets
  • Must be available for short‑notice call‑ins
  • Overnight and weekend availability is required
  • Flexibility to support other sites when necessary
